Brief Report: After a delightful lunch in the clubhouse the matches got underway on the 15th tee. Due to the heavy rainfall in January and February the greens weren’t as quick or reliable as they have been in the past and so tentative putts early on were punished. Both Sergej and Jamie made quick starts, taking full advantange of their opponents difficulties on the greens. Slightly further ahead on the course Alex and Sanghoon were striking the ball consistently well, leaving their opposite numbers with few opportunities to gain the upper hand. In the final match out on the course it was a rather different story with Nick Holt racing to a handsome lead after some excellent ball striking and firm putting on the front 9. Jack, however, ignited a comeback after back to back birdies on 6 and 7. With the light fading a halve seemed like a fair result in what was an extremely competitive match. The other four matches finished the way they started, with the boys in the ascendancy. All in all, it was an extremely enjoyable day of golf, full of encouraging signs for the match against Harrow.
