OWGS Halford Hewitt Selection
We have now finalised selection for the Halford Hewitt side of this year. As ever, David Wybar has done an outstanding job pulling the troops in to line and organised an exciting final trial (if not very cold and windy) at RSG on Saturday. The team is (in alpha order):
We are delighted to have Paddy returning from New Zealand again this year and equally pleased to select Jack Keating, who left WinColl last year and is currently in Australia playing the Amateur Golf circuit, as well as Tim Lewis who is 25 but one that had previously sneaked under the radar. Tim is a fine 2 handicap golfer who came to the sport late after his preferred route as a professional cricketer was ended through injury.
As ever, we have a strong team on paper and need to show some of the success and grit that Claudio did in winning the President’s Putter earlier this year.
We are drawn in the first round against Glenalmond on Thursday 9th April at 2.45pm at Deal. The team would be delighted if you were able to support and cheer us to a first round victory.
Further, if you would like to attend the black tie dinner in the RSG clubhouse on the Wednesday night then you would be extremely welcome and we would be delighted to see you.
For those wondering how to fill a Thursday morning, there is The Kenyon Bowl at Littlestone which is an 18 hole handicap foursomes competition. Pairs wishing to enter should reserve starting times through the Secretary’s Office at Littlestone (01797 363355) to avoid disappointment.
I hope you might be able to join us in April!
